Friends!

A little while ago, I was lamenting my lack of friends with time to do things. Here's an update:

My in-town friends have been a lot of fun lately. I don't have any family here, and going to Hope's Dad's with him making yummy dinners, little Nina, Dasher, Jen and Hope every now and then is like the summer family picnics I'd never have.

My out of town friends are doing well and even come to visit sometimes! Jen was up for the 4th (pics still forthcoming - I hate putting pics on the laptop because I want everything in the same place, and the tower's still in the shop). Carrie's been cracking me up with the Melbourne gossip and kniting & bitching. I love it.

My knitting friends are multiplying now that I've started cheating on my regular knitting group with the Sunday Knitters. I think my regular knitting group is probably happy to get a little peace and quiet (God, I gotta lay off the TALKING!) but I'll be sad if Beth winds up moving to the city that shall not be named for no apparent reason. My new knitting friends Anna & Abiah & secrettly Linda & I went to the Clayton farmer's market last weekend and I got the most addictive cherry tomatoes ever. Carol landed a job, so I don't see her as much, but we still IM.

Suddenly, I have friends all over! My best friend is sleeping at the moment, next to me. What could be better?

Mission accomplished.

  • whats the city that shall not be named? i just got back from the west coast last night. boy oakland is totally not ruling my world. i dont know about this. portland is about 550000times cooler than oakland. and is it just me but, though san fransisco is beautiful, doesnt it just seem like the place your stockbroker khaki clad person would live and not me? i just dont really feel the love for california to be honest. oh i ranted all about it on booga. im going to flip a lot of coins before i join aram out there. ill be intown in august at some point if you want to hang with one of your random out of town friends.

  • Cincinnatti. Did I spell that right? Heh. Is Aram there permanently, or just for school? That sucks that it's not as much fun as you'd hoped - maybe after you meet more locals, it could get better?

Will you be here pre- or post-France?
